Styling My Phone And Macbook Skin

I've always found it so hard when it comes to designing your phone or laptop case and to be honest I never find one I actually love....UNTIL NOW! :)  I must admit I use my phone and laptop on a daily. They have become part of my must have essentials. Upgrading the style of my phone and laptop has never felt better....

When an email landed in my Inbox from Case App (a brand based in Sweden who also have a UK office) I was more than excited to read further. I had never heard of Case App before until there were photos popping up on my Instagram feed...

I was so happy when I was asked to collaborate with them. I got to choose 2 products from them whether I chose a pre design or designed my own.  Of course I had to go for products that had pink graphics and tones in them.  I thought of my Instagram and Blog immediately (hence the pink theme). I chose a macbook skin and a case for my phone. How adorable is the macbook skin!! I love the skin because it reminds me of summer (palm trees and flamingoes just look so fresh looking). I have never had a skin or case for my macbook since I received it a few years ago. I didn't know what to expect with the skin or the case when they arrived. To be honest the skin is very very good. It stuck down very quickly and has stayed on since I got it.  I also went for a pink case and I'm in love. The design of this one is me down to a t. As soon as I saw this design I was like yeah that's me all over, how beautiful are the handbag and lipstick graphics..

I was surprised how great these cases are, it's a hard back plastic I think and protects your phone quite nicely. I also had an issue when my order arrived. The actual case I ordered was the wrong one( my mistake), I was gutted so I emailed Case App. They kindly responded and said they will send out a new case and I was able to keep onto that one for friends or family. I've never known a company to do that before as most always say right you need to send it back or something. So far I'm impressed with how friendly and generous this brand is...

Case App have all sorts of designs that have been pre made or you get to design your own. Case App have everyone covered from Iphones, Ipads, Ipods, Nokia, Laptop, Macbook and Samsung cases/skins there are designs you will love. You can also upload photos of your friends and family and have them printed too...I think this is pretty awesome as it shows the brand is allowing you to personalise it too..

From choosing a design to ordering, dispatch and delivery it was so quick!! When it arrived the parcel was packaged well too. Besides me ordering the wrong case I am very happy with these products and will definitely recommend these to everyone I know....

Case App were also kind enough to give me a discount code for your guys too. So if your interested in designing your own phone case or laptop skin you can use my code LEIGHANNE20.. this code is only valid until 06/05/2018. So thats a couple of weeks to decide if you want to use my code loves....click HERE to go straight to the website..

I also have a GIVEAWAY live on my Instagram feed HERE. You can win your very own phone case or laptop skin so head over to my grid to find out how.....

*This post is a collaboration with CaseApp, the items were gifted however my opinion remains my own upon receiving them..

Adding to my Huda Beauty collection.......

Huda Kattan has to be one of my favourite influencers in the beauty community and as a role model for all us females. Huda started her makeup line back in 2013 and since then she has become of the well known and biggest beauty bloggers in the world. I already own some pieces from Huda's line but wanted to add to my collection and Cult Beauty was definitely the place to shop! I kinda had a HUGE Huda Beauty haul and don't think I'm one bit sorry about it, keep reading if you want to see what I managed to pick up....

Huda Beauty Complexion Perfection is described as a makeup base but to a lot of us it's a primer. I never used to think highly enough of primers but now I know their purpose I'm always on the lookout for primers that do what they say they do. I believe this primer has a scent to it and when I read the product description it mentioned rose hip oil . I love anything that has rose in. Some have said it smells quite strong however the scent doesn't really affect me. I swatched it on the back of my hand when I received it and yes it does feel quite heavy but it feels tacky. I love primers that have a tacky feel to them as you know it's going to keep your foundation on your face. It also dries quite matte as well which is nice...

Huda Beauty #Faux Filter Foundation is Huda's first foundation release. I think Huda released this is the autumn of 2017 and finally I now own one. I did feel quite overwhelmed by all the foundation shades as I had no clue what shade I would be and I didn't fancy finding a store that stocked Huda Beauty. One thing I did do was take a look more at her shades as they are advertised as fair, light, medium, tan and rich. I took a look at the light shades and then watched some influencers on youtube. It wasn't just one or two videos I spent the longest time finding a youtuber that had applied the shade I picked up. I did find one which encouraged me to get my chosen shade. In the end I purchased the shade Chai and it was the best match ever!! It's also very full coverage which is what I look for in a foundation. I'm still testing it out so I may actually do a follow up post to this one....

Huda Beauty Face, Buff And Blend Brush was definitely an impulse buy. How beautiful is this brush though??? I had also heard some good things about this brush and decided to add it to my collection. It's also a brush I will want to use for foundation as I mentioned in a previous post the majority of the time I use my hands to apply foundation because that's what I'm comfortable with. However I DO want to start using brushes more just for hygiene reasons really. When I received this brush it came packaged really well and the bristles are so soft too. I'm yet to try it out but I will let you guys know what it's like....

Huda Beauty Mauve Obsessions Palette is one of the most stunning palette's I've ever seen. I did watch some you tube videos on this before deciding to purchase it. As you all I'm an eyeshadow palette junkie and do own Huda's Desert Dusk Palette (You can take a look at my post HERE). I believe Huda released these in time for christmas last year and I did decide NOT to get them at the time however we all know what I'm like when it comes to palettes. Huda has 4 of these 9 pan palette's. The first one I picked up was the Mauve Obsessions. This palette has matte, satin and foil shadows. You tube influencers did encourage me to buy this one and I thought to myself is it as good as there saying. OMG I was so impressed with this palette. The swatches below are finger swatches and the first time seeing how they apply on my arm.  The swatches were done without any primer or spray. I was blown away with how pigmented these shades are. I don't think Huda named the shadows in these 9 pan palette's. Swatches from T-B are rows 1 -3 in the palette starting from left to right...just look at those foil shadows!!

Huda Beauty Mauve Obessions Eyeshadow Palette

Huda Beauty Smokey Obsessions Palette is another palette I have seen all over Instagram and You Tube. I was drawn to that amazing silver shadow and the other foils. I'm a huge lover of metallic and foil shadows. Again Smokey Obsessions is another 9 pan palette and has rose gold, copper, cocoa and mahogany brown hues. The palette has again matte, satin and foil shadows. Another amazing reaction when this palette was swatched on my arm. I can't believe how good these shadows are and how small the pans are. But trust me the pigmentation from such small palette's are insane!! Just look at the 3rd, fourth, fifth and sixth foil shades on my arm, how lovely are those. One thing I did notice was the matte black in the top left of the palette swatched quite sheer on my arm (Very first shadow at the top of my wrist). Now I don't know if that's just me swatching it wrong or it's quite sheer anyway. Do any of you have this palette and notice the same thing?? One thing I will say is I don't really use black shadows so it might not get much use from me anyway.  The other mattes were perfect and can't wait to use this more. Swatches from T-B are rows 1 -3 in the palette starting from left to right...

Huda Beauty Smokey Obsessions Eyeshadow Palette

Lastly in this Huda Beauty haul I picked up Huda's latest highlighting palette, the Bronze Sands Edition. How stunning is this palette!!! I absolutely love bronze shades and palette's like this have me sold straight away. Huda's highlighting palettes have 4 shades inside and are designed to be used as a prep, to set, to sculpt and to flush. You don't have to use them in that order, I know I don't. What I do love about Huda's highlighters is how creamy they are and they look amazing on the skin. Inside the Bronze Sands Edition the shades are much richer and are meant to be used for tanned skin tones. I have an olive undertone to my complexion and can tan quite easily during  warmer months. I do find these types of palette's are perfect for travel too and complement your makeup so nicely especially if your in a hot climate. Again no surprises when I swatched these shades, they are just as stunning as ever. Shades from T-B are Barbados, Maldives, Aruba and Bora Bora. I absolutely love this palette and another top tip you can wear these as eyeshadow toppers too...

Do you own anything from Huda? Have you tried any of these products??

I have also included Hannah Schroder's video on the Mauve Obsessions Palette. Love Hannah's youtube channel and she is one of my favourite influencers. I do not own the video nor have I contributed to the making of this video. I am including it as I genuinely enjoy watching her channel, hit the subscribe button if your not already.....

Starting a makeup collection can make you feel overwhelmed sometimes. When I take a look at the makeup I have now I dread to think what the actual total cost of it all would be. Collecting makeup and building your collection can take years. I first started purchasing makeup when I was a pre-teen. I used to love buying lip balms and this turned into lipsticks followed by eyeshadows and mascaras etc. Today I own more than the average person needs and I probably don't need all of it. But it's my passion, it's what makes me happy. Today I wanted to share with you a few tips about what to pick up when it comes to starting a makeup collection...

Start With Drugstore Makeup

No one needs to be all fancy and rush out and buy high end products just because you have seen it on Instagram or youtube. But this is what we do..sadly we all get roped in by pretty products on social media. I have to admit I do. We don't NEED that product but something in our minds tells us we HAVE to have it. When I started buying makeup the most part were from places like superdrug, boots, bodycare, supermarkets and even amazon. I liked to search for bargains and I think my most favourite product THEN had to be a nude lipstick or even a lip gloss. I used to think it was so cool having a lipstick from Maybelline, Rimmel or even Loreal. Back in the day these brands were THE IT brand to buy from. Everyone owned something from at least one of them. When I look back at drugstore makeup and how it was then to now I can definitely say it's improved. I remember buying products years ago and  thinking these products are so good yet if I was to compare them with somethign I own now I'd probably think "gees what was I thinking".  What I'm trying to say is if I was a teen now I would feel comfortable with purchasing drugstore makeup and be happy with it. Some drugstore brands are better than high end ones in my opinion....

Buy Products Your Going To Use And Not Hoard

There is no point in buying something in store, get it home and place it in the back of a drawer. Using products is better than having something collecting dust. Years ago I used to buy products I thought looked pretty and come home with all these different shades especially lipsticks or shadows. I felt great standing in the queue with all these different items but admit-tingly never used the crazy colours.  They were way out of my league oh and long gone by now. You have to buy those products that suit YOU. Don't go and buy a foundation shade you have seen on one of your friends, seen an influencer wear or seen on a model in a magazine. It has to suit you, you skin tone, your skin type and your complexion. Again the same with a concealer, you have to buy the shade that will match your skin tone. I always agree with "buy a concealer lighter than your foundation" as a concealer can not only conceal blemishes, spots, shadows or creases but can highlight areas of your face too. One of my favourite concealers is the Tarte shape tape and I have that concealer in light and light to medium. Find out what type of mascara you love, the powder that sits well on your face, the eyeshadows you feel blend perfectly and the lip colour that looks amazing on YOU. I love how makeup brands cater to all skin tones now. When I was growing up they was only so many shades you could choose from...let me say that wearing a foundation that didn't match your neck was at least something we all did wrong..

Learn Application Tips And Tricks

If your like me (still learning) who loves to watch tutorials on youtube, browse makeup brands online, visit makeup counters and experiment with makeup it's always best to know how to apply makeup. In my early teens I had no clue what was the right thing to do, how you applied it or what my shade was we all just went with the flow. It was a TREND to wear makeup and looking back at some of my photos I'm in shock. A lot of us used to do what was best for us and experiment a little. There were no rules in makeup whereas I find even though people still say that now I still do think makeup has to be applied in a certain way, a way that SUITS YOU!!. I remember applying my foundation with my hands because there was none of these fabulous makeup brushes or blending sponges you see now. That was THE WAY to do it, as long as my hands were clean. Your probably thinking omg why did you do that because that was the in thing at the time. Today I still use my hands to apply my foundation( that may seem gross to you...), it's what works for me. My foundation applies just as good as it would using a brush or sponge. I have tried these ways and I still go back to using my hands. I suppose it's what your used to.  What I'm saying is if your someone who's learning to apply makeup NOW you will be taught or learn how it's applied NOW not in the 90's or the early 00's. I feel a lot of people's makeup today looks lovely and "perfect" yet when I try to do a certain look it looks a mess. I apply my makeup the way I know how. Yes I've picked up some tips and tricks along the way and yes my makeup application now is different to how it was as a teen. This is all thanks to youtube, makeup artists and the industry changing. Never agree with someone who says "That's not the way to do it" or "You have to do it this way" because again it's all down to the person, find what you enjoy doing and stick to it....

Products You Need In Your Makeup Collection

I have been collecting and applying makeup for as long as I can remember. I can be one of those people that applies my base differently to my best friend or applies my highlighter differently to the THAT influencer on social media. I always find every single one of us use the same products but in a different way. To us applying our foundation may be right but to another person it may appear to be wrong. I want to share some products I think are must have's when it comes to starting your makeup collection....

1) Definitely pick up a primer whether thats a pore filler, dewy or mattifying, a decent primer will lock your foundation in place
2) A foundation for your skin tone and type. There are so many foundations on the market these days and you can feel slightly overwhelmed. I would do some research on what foundations would work best for you whether you like light, light to medium or full coverage. Maybe go to a counter and ask for a colour match...
3) A concealer that does what you want it too. You can buy different types of concealers now whether that's anti aging, covers blemishes, covers dark circles or even brightens. I love a full coverage concealer and of course one with brightening properties...
4) Buy a powder that's going to set your foundation (a very important step!). You can buy compact powders and loose ones. I vary between what powder I use. It's only in the last few years I started to use loose setting powders..
5) Prior to setting your foundation with powder you can also use cream products. In the last couple of years everyone went crazy for the sculpt and highlight trend. Yes I do contour but more so with powder than cream based products. If you do wish to contour with cream products always do this before setting your powder as cream on top of powder looks so muddy (trust me I know..an accidental step lol). When it comes to contouring with cream products you would contour the exact same way with powder but you definitely need to blend it in more...
6) Besides cream contour you can always apply liquid highlighter too before setting your makeup
7) Once you have applied your base I always find adding a brightening or banana powder under my eyes. This is what works well for me as I have terrible under eye circles. I have done this step for years and I can definitely see a difference..
8) Now when it comes to my brows I used to use brow pencils all the time. I then went onto brow powders then pomades etc. I guess following the trends. Now I use a brow powder that isn't too expensive and it does the job. I picked up a brow tint recently which I love. I feel brow trends come and go you just gotta find what works best for you..
9) Applying eyeshadow can be so daunting sometimes. You want to try and recreate a look you seen your favourite youtuber did but then when you try and do it it's a utter mess. I find with eyeshadow there are no rules. You can apply your shadow after you have set your makeup or you can apply your eyeshadow before your base. I always like to use an eyeshadow primer and some like to use concealer and then set it with an eyeshadow that matches your skin tone. I always like to stick to neutral colours for my shadow but quite recently I have been mixing it up with a bit of colour. You can always apply shadow under your waterline too but always blend it out...
10) For mascara I love one that gives my lashes a bit more length and added volume. I have quite long lashes anyway so a mascara with a thick wand are some of my favourites. Bottom lash mascaras are so hard to find but I do have one I love and can't finish my makeup off without it. Bottom lash mascaras have a much smaller wand and cling onto those tiny lashes the way you want it too...
11) I absolutely love a powder highlight. I own so many highlighters and like to rotate them on a daily. As always you highlight down the t zone, tops of your cheek bones and your inner corner highlight. I like a blinging highlight and sometimes use a setting spray or my mac fix plus to intensify it a little..if you like to glow then glow..:)
12) I love to powder contour and use Charlotte's filmstar bronze and glow. I contour my cheekbones, my forehead, my jaw line and sometimes my nose. Always make sure you blend your contour in though. Over my powder contour I sometimes use a bronzer if I want a bit more of a healthy glow. Again use the bronzer in the same places you would to contour..
13) I'm not a huge fan of blush and don't own a lot of blushers. If you love to pick up blushers then do..
14)Lastly when it comes to your lips you can use lip balms to prepare your lips for lip products. I love to use lip liners, lipsticks, matte liquid lips, satin liquid lips, velvet liquid lips, lip gloss you get my drift. Choose a colour for your look, you can choose a nude to a bold red or even pink....do you :)

I hope some of these can be useful for you, this is just some advice and tips I've learnt along the way. It may not be the right way but it works and it does the job. Are there any tips you can give me that I may have missed out or have no clue about? Hope you enjoyed todays post...if you like posts like this let me know in the comments....xo

Spring is in the air... sunshine and flowers mark the official start of spring...

More than a few weeks ago I did a declutter of my makeup collection. I published the declutter on my Instagram stories. You may have seen that if you follow me on there (socials are on my site loves...) It was definitely overdue and I cleared out lots of unused products, products that had sat at the back of drawers and expired items too. I brought a lot of products out of my drawers and placed them on my dresser so I could grab them easily and also tidied up my collection so I could see what I have. I wanted to continue to declutter and had a "Spring Clean" seeing as it's now officially the spring season. Spring to me means fresh linen, blooming flowers, sunshine, lighter evenings, easter and of course glowy makeup. I wanted to switch my makeup a little and start using some of my newer releases as well as existing products to get that "spring glow"...

During the spring and summer I love having a glowy base. Besides eyeshadow doing my face makeup is one of my favourite parts of applying makeup. Im no expert but I feel comfortable with how I apply my base makeup. I love a radiance or illuminating primer that gives me a healthy base without looking too dull or grey. Charlotte Tilbury's Healthy Glow is perfect for that. The healthy glow is a tinted moisturiser and can be worn alone or under foundation. Im not a huge fan of tinted moisturisers but this one seems to work fine for me. The thing I love about healthy glow is that it adapts to your skin tone. You only need the slightest amount too as it has tanning ingredients in it. It also saves having to apply fake tan as I can just wear this under my foundation and apply supermodel body to the rest of my body (otherwise my face is totally different to the rest of me lol)

When it comes to spring I like to start wearing much more pink, nude and rosier tones especially with eyeshadows. Im such a warm toned gal and love these types of palette's the most. I recently picked up the new Soft Glam Palette by Anastasia Beverly Hills. This palette is gorgeous and perfect for this time of the year. I love the metallic shades in this and it's lovely for creating looks day or night. You can read my first impressions of the soft glam palette HERE...

One of my newest products is the Latte Palette by Dominique Cosmetics. The latte palette has been created by youtuber Christien Dominique. It has a mix of metallics and mattes. Most of the shades are warm toned but the metallics are a lot lighter. I have been using the metallics in this palette as lid toppers. They are absolutely stunning and make my blue eyes pop. I have been using some setting spray when using thee metallics and they look even better. You can also read my post on the Latte Palette HERE...

Everyone that has read my blog so far and followed my on my socials you will know that I love intense shadows especially the super shock shadows by Colourpop. I have quite a few of these shadows. The formula is insane and the pigment is amazing. Just one swatch of these super shock shadows will leave you shocked!! I can't believe how good they are for the price. I love wearing these alone on the lid or as lid toppers. I own a lot of rose, nude and pink shadows in this range and Sequin is one of my favourites. It's beautiful for this time of year...

I also love a good highlight at this time of the year whether there powder, liquid or stick form I love to glow.  I like to switch up a lot of my highlighters and bring some "current loves" out on my dresser. During this time of the year I love champagne and rose highlighters. Everyone loves Jaclyn Hills champagne pop and sadly I don't own the compact version only the stick form. I feel like this is just as good though and I adore Jaclyn's makeup artistry. It's crazy how she makes makeup application look so easy yet I'm here just about mastering how to apply my base lol. You can pick up Becca's products from cult beauty, space nk and their website. Im fairly new to liquid highlighters and I have been loving drugstore ones lately. Tanya Burr's liquid highlight is lovely, it's not intensely blinding but it's good enough.  You can pick up Tanya's products from feel unique and superdrug..

During this time of the year I also love to use face palette's as there perfect for travel too. I also bring them forward in my stash so I remember to use them.  One of my favourite face palette's in my collection is the Too Faced Sweet Peach Glow. This product has a bronzer, highlighter and blusher. The highlight in this palette is stunning and it's the only time I start to wear bronzer more too. I'm not a huge fan of bronzer as I hate any that make me look muddy or too "orange" or even "glittery". I but I have to say I got on so well with the one in this palette. It gives the most nicest glow and encourages me to use it more especially when the sun is out. I feel like when the sun is out and the temp is up it makes me want to use more glowy products..does anybody else do that??

I also love to switch up my mascaras as they can dry out super quickly or the brushes end up being so clumped. I recently picked up Maybellines Total Temptation and I am in love. This makes my lashes look super long and thick but without the clumping. I have to admit I was drawn in by the pretty pink packaging (as you do!) and surprisingly I was impressed. I love this product and definitely going to pick up more..

Lastly when it comes to lip products my most favourite are lipsticks. Charlotte Tilbury is a brand I will continue to swoon over and her lipsticks are stunning. You all know I love a good nude but when the weather starts brightening up I have to pull out a brighter lip. One of my favourites, one I always talk about on my Instagram is the shade Miranda May. I take this on holidays with me or weekends away as it's the most stunning shade I've ever seen. It's a coral pink which complements my skin tone quite nicely of and it also looks stunning with that champagne highlight loves....

Besides switching up some of my products I also love to tidy my makeup collection up by continuing to declutter, cleaning the drawers I store everything in and also cleaning the actual products. There's nothing worse than opening up a product that's dirty or too horrible to use. I love fresh, clean and new products...

Have your had a spring clean of your collection yet????....

ABH or Anastasia Beverly Hills is a brand I have loved for such a long time. ..

The product that attracted me to the brand was the iconic "Modern Renaissance Palette" that anyone and everyone loves. If you follow me on my socials you will now I am a huge lover of eyeshadow palettes and it goes without saying really. When ABH announced their new palette "Soft Glam" I knew I had to pick one up. How incredibly stunning is this palette!! It's going to be beautiful for spring. ABH also announced a new highlighter in collaboration with Amrezy!! Thought I would share my first impressions of the products in todays post loves....

ABH Soft Glam Palette is the latest release from the brand. I have a few eyeshadow palettes from the brand already and her eyeshadow formula is one of my favourites.  In toe with the other ABH palettes Soft Glam has 14 shades, matte combined with metallic and shimmer finishes. The Soft Glam Palette has a mix of cool tone shadows with some neutral browns and pops of colour.  In the beauty world there had been a lot of discussion about the Soft Glam being compared to the Modern Renaissance. In my opinion when you first look at the Soft Glam you can see a slight comparison but when you but both of those palette's together there completely different. However there are some repeat shades in this palette which were in the Modern Renaissance too. In all of ABH's palette's the packaging and style are very similar and you also get the wide mirror. I'm not quite fussed with mirrors in palette's but ABH's brushes are something else. I love her brushes in every palette I own. As soon as this palette arrived I wanted to see what the quality, pigmentation and swatches looked like. I was not disappointed, as always impressed with her shadows. The Soft Glam palette retails for £43. I have included the shade descriptions as described on the ABH UK website....

Tempera- Ultra-Matte Velvety Beige
Glistening- Iridescent gold with a hint of pink reflect
Orange-Soda- Ultra matte pastel peach
Rose Pink- Rose gold with a soft iridescent hue
Sultry- A hybrid satin metallic finish warm chocolate brown
Bronze- Metallic gold bronze
Mulberry- Ultra matte mulberry
Dusty Rose- Ultra matte dusty lilac
Fairy- Multi imensional light gold
Burnt orange- Ultra matte deep prange
Sienna- Ultra matte earthy brown
Rustic- Ultra matte deep cinnamon brown
Cyprus Umber- Ultra matte dark coffee
Noir- Ultra matte deep carbon black

I have included swatches row by row in the photos below. Photo one is the top row in the palette and photo 2 is the second row...

From T-B the shades are Tempera, Glistening, Orange soda, Rose Pink, Sultry, Bronze, and Mulberry

From T-B the shades are Dusty Rose, Fairy, Burnt Orange, Sienna, Rustic, Cyprus Umber and Noir

ABH have recently colloborated with Amrezy and released a new highlighter. I absolutely lvoe highlighters besides eyeshadow palettes. I believe ABH have colloborated with Amrezy before. if I'm wrong correct me in the comments. I did hesitate a little on this product because I thought to myself do I need another highlighter. I thought "why the hell not" and this purchase happened!! The packaging of this highlighter is stunning, it's so sleek and bloody gorgeous. This shade is described as a light brilliant gold (as described on the ABH UK website). To tell you the truth I have worn this highlighter more than a few times, it's my new favourite :) Swatch of Amrezy's highlighter is below loves...it looks very similar to Becca's Chamoagne Pop, don't you think?...

"I live for the perfect glow-it's a constant focus in my makeup routine. I'm always looking for the most luminous glow with a natural, second skin finish. This collaboration with ABH brings my highlighter dreams to life, and I'm so happy to share this "sun in a compact" with my Rezy riders."
- Amrezy

Amrezy's comment about the new highlighter as shown on the ABH UK website. I did not make this comment nor write it. Yes these products were purchased with my own money..

Have you tried the Soft Glam Palette or Amrezy Highlighter yet?

First of all Happy Mothers Day to all the lovely mums out there, hope your having the best time today!!...

Mothers Day is all about celebrating with mum and of course having a lovely pamper whether thats mum or yourself...

I absolutely adore pamper sessions so whether you have gifted your mum a lovely skincare item or picked up some goodies for yourself Lush have the most loveliest collections out right now.  If you have read some of my Lush posts before you will know that I only started using Lush products last year. This is my first time picking up some items from the 2018 Mothers Day range. I was intrigued by quite a bit in this collection so I wanted to share with you what I chose....

Incredible Mum Bath Bomb is adorable. I believe this is a new product this year. I can't get over how fab this looks. I love the superhero theme it has with the glasses and the cape. This bath bomb contains bergamot oil, orange flower absolute and ylang ylang oil. In this bath this one looks stunning, the colours remind me of those fruit salad sweets we had as kids. Plus it smells lovely too, I'm a huge fan of ylang ylang so this one is a firm favourite..

Baa Bar Bubble Bar is the shape of a sheep. I believe this one was out last year and smelt like violet and lavender. Only this year it has a new formula and it is the twilight scent. At first I wasn't a crazy fan of twilight but recently it's grown on me. When I noticed this was twilight scented I knew I had to pick one up. Again this one has ylang ylang in it so it's perfect to use before bedtime. How bloody cute is this bubble bar though??...

Mother Of Pearl is a bubbleroon. Bubbleroons are new and have been introduced in this years Mothers Day collection. A bubbleroon is apparently a type of bubblebar (bubble bath but in a solid form). I absolutely love this invention and adore the marbled effect on them. Lush how do you do it?....This one has orange flower, jasmine, murumuru and shea butter inside.  Shea butter and jasmine are two ingredients I love in Lush products...

Purple Loosestrife is a soap. This soap is new this year and actually looks like the plant. Purple Loosestrife is native to Great Britain as well and is a well known plant found in many British gardens.  I love how Lush have made this soap and made it look exactly alike, it's very well made in my opinion. Purple Loosestrife became one of my favourites as soon as I took it out of the box. This soap is infused with rosa absolute, violet leaf absolute, hibiscus syrup and Lavender syrup. To me my first impressions of it was that it smelt like parma violets (sweets here in the UK) yet when my mum smelt it she said it didn't. I suppose everybody has different opinions of products...

Madame President is a bath bomb. This is new to the Mothers Day range for 2018 too. I love the colours of this one and the stars too. I'm yet to try this one in the bath as I don't want to use it up. This one is infused with petitgrain oil and grapefruit oil. I absolutely love the smell of this one and of course it's design. It's incredibly clever and is this one inspired by the american presidency perhaps, I'm not quite sure. If anyone knows let me know in the comments?....

Purple Drain is another marbled Bubbleroon. I love the pun of this one after Prince's iconic track "Purple Rain" (clicks onto Prince's discography and hits the play button lol). This one has to be another one(scent wise) that I adore, it's infused with peppermint oil, clove bud oil, black pepper oil and shea butter.  Plus in the bath it's so creamy and leaves your skin so soft too, love this one :)

Rosebud Soap is another new product in the soap family. Rosebud soap looks amazing BUT my first impressions of it weren't that great. To be honest when I read what was inside it I was immediately drawn to the fact that it has oats and rose water in it. When I smelt it I wasn't impressed, the smell was a bit odd and unusual for something with rose in it. I haven't used this one yet but I believe others have said the "odd" smell disappears when you use it...

Mum Look What I Made For You is another Bath Bomb and again is new in this collection. I absolutely adored the look of this one online as it looks like something a child has created for their mum. It does look cute however when I smelt it it was unpleasant. I did not like the smell of this one. It's so hard when choosing products online especially when they look like there going to smell nice. It's ingredients look appealing but for some strange reason it just doesn't appeal to me so it's a no from me for this one..

Honey Mummy is a gift set.  I wanted to pick up one of the gift sets as I have become a huge lover of Lush's honey scent family. When I seen this one I added it straight to my order. This gift set has all honey infused products inside. I was going to pick up the Chamomile Lawn Soap and the Honey Bear massage bar separately but when I noticed that they were inside this gift I chose this instead. There are 6 products inside, the 2 above followed by the It's Raining Men shower gel, Helping Hands hand cream, Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter and Scrubee Body Butter. I have always wanted to try It's Raining Men and Scrubee so this box was perfect for me. I love the design of the packaging too, it has bees on it which reflects the products inside. The packaging was also designed by Arthouse Meath, artists living with complex needs and learning disabilities. I'm hoping some of the proceeds from the Honey Mummy gift set go to these artists. I wanted to say this because  I work with adults with learning disabilities and for them to create something like this is an achievement and a real accomplishment...

Lastly I hope you have all had a lovely day celebrating Mothers Day, what did you gift your mum this year??

Mothers Deserve The Best Too....

It's a time when all mothers deserve to be treated, a day where they can sit back and relax, enjoy being pampered, receive some lovely gifts and of course open up the wine at the dinner table. Mothers Day is a week today so that's March 11th when you can surprise your mum with the "best" gift ever. I have already got my Mum's gift, booked a lovely meal and have a surprise for her too. I wanted to share with you some ideas if your struggling to think what to get your Mum or your looking for something to gift as that extra something special...

Fragrance Gifts........

Everyone loves receiving fragrance at anytime of the year but I think Mum's love it the most for Mothers Day.  Of course my mum already asked for a particular fragrance that she absolutely adores and of course I had to pick one up for her. I'm not going to say what it is but it's a very popular scent that I'm not very fond of. Me and mum share very different likes when it comes to fragrance and one of my favourites in my collection is Chloe's signature eau de parfum. It is described as a vibrant floral perfume infused with freesia, peony and lychee. I adore this scent just because it smells clean and fresh when you spritz it. It's incredibly flirty and feminine too...

Another fragrance I highly recommend is Charlotte Tilbury's Scent Of A Dream. Everyone went crazy for this when it was released.  At the moment I have samples of this product, lots of them which I find stops me from adding another fragrance to my collection. Once there all used up I will be picking up a full bottle of this stuff. Infused with jasmine, violet, peach and other "Fleurotic" notes this is perfect for Mother's that want to feel confident, sexy and positive...

Skincare Gifts........

Who doesn't love miniature products especially body wash and shower gels. I always find these are lovely to give as gifts. Mothers deserve to have a "bit" of me time whether that's a soak in a bubble bath or a hot shower. I have been absolutely loving the shower and bath products from Soap And Glory recently. I was gifted a lot of the mini sized products at christmas time and thought these would be lovely to put in a gift bag for Mothers Day too. If your Mum loves to pamper herself definitely pick some of these up as little extra's or d.i.y gift boxes...

Now of course Mum's are always on the go whether their full time parents, working part time or even bossing it a full time job they still need to save a bit of a room for a facial. Of course you can always treat your mum to a lovely spa day or if she prefers to relax at home you can treat her to a heavenly face mask. One I absolutely adore and I think Mums would too is the Goddess Skin Clay Mask by Charlotte Tilbury. It's a very luxurious product to have in your skincare collection. It contains spanish clay and sweet almond oil to nourish and soften the skin. I am in love  with almond oil or anything that has almonds in it, amazing for nourishing the skin. This face mask also helps to promote collagen and elasticity...

Home Gifts........

Every mum must own something from their children with "Mum" on I'm sure. I like to personalise some of my gifts as it makes it much more personal, it just shows there's more thought been added to the gift. Over time I have gifted my mum lots of personalised items and it comes as no surprise that I have added a mug with Mum on it for this gift guide.  I always find mugs, cups and glasses are easy to come across and you know they will be used. I adore the one in this photo with the two pink birds on, the other side of it there is a Tatty Teddy from Me To You. I'm not quite sure where this is from but you can go into any home store if your interested in this type of gift...

Beauty Gifts........

My favourite category to talk about. If your mum loves to put on some makeup and doll herself up every now and then treat her to some of the most popular products in the market. I always find a lot of mums can't always afford to treat themselves to beauty products or they don't have the time to do it. Gifting them with some products like eyeshadow palette's adds a bit of luxury to their makeup and beauty collections. I love both of these palette's as they both have some gorgeous shades in.  If your mum prefers bold colours with some cranberry and brown hues then the Modern Renaissance palette by ABH is a must have...
On the other hand if mum prefers neutral and rose tones shades then I would go for the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette. This is full of rose gold and blush pink colours. I think this would be ideal for Mums who like to wear a bit of colour on the eyes but nothing as striking as the shades in the Modern Renaissance...

So there you have it a mini gift guide if you will, perfect for last minute gifts for Mum. Of course many gift Mum with flowers and chocolates however this post is some inspiration for those of you that still need to pick something up...have a lovely day celebrating, what are your plans? xo
